Yuly is a community leader working for social causes at a local non-profit as a marketing, brand and design consultant. With Project Money, she has been able to create a sustainable financial plan to achieve all her goals.
Paola worked for Summit’s branches and mortgage team before her current role as a Bilingual Financial Education Specialist. She wants Yuly (and everyone!) to know that anyone can be financially savvy. She’s eager to share guidance to help Yuly gain life-changing knowledge and security.Q: What’s the biggest thing that Project Money does for people? A: It gives them guidance and support to work on the routine and repetition of sticking to a budget, and holds them accountable to it. Q: Any overall tips for Yuly’s journey? A: Create a visual reminder that helps you stick to your budget – whether that’s a note on your mirror or a picture of your goal on your phone’s home screen. This really helped with my own travel goal to visit family.Q: To you, what’s the one financial “must?” A: Everyone’s situation and best financial approach look different, but whatever method you try, give it 4-6 months before switching it up. A comfortable feeling takes time.Q: Have you had any “Aha” moments in your own financial journey? A: When I was going to school, and my husband and I were newlyweds and new homeowners, I thought, “We don’t make enough to have a budget.” But we learned a budget isn’t about how much you make – it’s allocating what you earn.Q: What do you love most about what you do at Summit? A: Working with our community to empower them through financial education is so fulfilling. I love that Summit is a place that truly lives and breathes our mission and vision. Q: Fun fact about you? A: My husband and I have three amazing children, and we love going to their events and spending time together, playing board games or hosting family and friends. I also enjoy spending “me” time when I have a chance.
